Planters First Bank is honored to introduce the Sam A. Way Memorial Scholarship Program, featuring a one-time $1,000 sponsorship opportunity dedicated to supporting future leaders in our communities.

The Sam A. Way Memorial Scholarship was established to honor the enduring legacy of Mr. Sam A. Way and his lifelong commitment to the communities he served. Known simply as “Mr. Sam” to colleagues and community members alike, he believed deeply in the power of education to strengthen individuals, families, and entire communities. His passion for personal growth, leadership development, and lifelong learning continues to inspire the Bank’s mission today.

Eligible applicants must reside within Planters First Bank’s established scholarship footprint, which includes the following Georgia counties: Irwin, Ben Hill, Tift, Coffee, Crisp, Dooly, Lee, Worth, Sumter, Wilcox, Pulaski, Dodge, Houston, Bleckley, Macon, Peach, Bibb, Jones, Berrien, Turner, Crawford, Twiggs, and Monroe.

“Supporting education is an investment in the future of our communities,” shared the Planters First Bank Scholarship Committee. “Through this scholarship, we seek to empower students to reach their full potential while strengthening the communities they will one day lead—reflecting the values and vision Mr. Sam championed throughout his life.”

Planters First Bank encourages schools, counselors, parents, and community leaders to share the scholarship packet with eligible students who are preparing for the next chapter of their academic journey.
